Thinning Hair in Women

Losing hair is something that any woman cannot face as with thinning hair, they tend to lose their self confidence. This loss of self confidence is due to the fact that their appearance tends to falter with thinning hair.

There are many causes of thinning hair in women like stress, pregnancy, some drugs, heredity, use of wrong hair products and an unbalanced diet. Stress is something that should be reduced with relaxation, exercise and laughter. Once women manage to control the stress in their body, they find that their hair loss reduces.

Female thinning hair during pregnancy and childbirth is a temporary bout of female hair loss which should not be something to worry about. It is the hormonal changes that take place in the female body in these periods that leads to female thinning hair. After 3-6 months from the delivery, things should turn back to normal, with even hair regrowth.

Chemotherapy can lead to female thinning hair

Some medication like chemotherapy tends to induce thinning hair in women and even baldness in some women. This is however a temporary phase, where there is regrowth of hair once the medication is terminated.

If heredity is the cause for thinning hair in women, it is better to consult a doctor, who will be able to prescribe some easily available pills to help stop hair loss and encourage hair re-growth like Rogaine, Minoxidil and Finasteride.

You are what you eat; and this applies not only to the body, but to one’s hair too. So if the woman’s diet is not balanced it is quite possible for there to be female thinning hair.

Nutritious food prevent thinning of hair

Following a nutritious diet with food like meat, milk, eggs and green leafy vegetables can all help prevent female thinning hair and promote hair growth. Sometimes, a doctor may also prescribe some supplements if there are not sufficient vitamins and minerals in the diet.

If the use of wrong hair products is the case for hair loss, then it is advised to stop using these hair products. Even the frequent and excessive use of some products can lead to female thinning hair. Once usage of these products is stopped, then one should concentrate on hair repair with the help of a professional hair stylist.

Use hair products with natural ingredients

To avoid anymore thinning of hair, it is better to use hair products made from natural ingredients as they have few chemicals that can spoil hair. Products with alcohol should be avoided as this alcohol can dry out hair strands; instead use products that help in the hydration and conditioning of hair strands.

If there is a need of using dyes, it is better to use a temporary one, with natural ingredients as they are not very harsh and will not lead to thinning hair as chemical hair dyes can. And it is always better to have one’s hair dyed by a professional stylist to reduce the possibility of any errors that can lead to thinning hair in women.
